I have set up so personal objects for my self learning this coming year in 2009. Being a self learner has be my saving grace over the years. While some business owners have degrees and scholastic achievements to jump start their careers, I was not so fortunate.
I was not a super achiever in school ever. But I have always been an avid reader and self starter. The interment has played a HUGE role in my personal education always. Today, you can get almost any training or education by simply going to YouTube and typing in the topic!
My personal goal for 2009 is to become more proficient with marketing and advertisement. I have settled on learning more about Google Adwords and Analytics in 2009. So I found this great video on the Maketer’s Playbook for the guys at Google…Enjoy!
Hey, I just came back from my doorbuster shopping extravaganza for after Thanksgiving sales. Being the geek that I am, I got 2 new video editing and recording tools for nearly FREE…but that is another story.
But walking down aisle after aisle of new software on the shelves, I starting looking over the boxes. As I would pick them up to read the contents, you begin to notice there is really nothing in there.
Why does the software industry waste so much on packaging its products? Why are there no outcries from the “save the planet” folks? Where are we on this issue guys? This is freaking ridiculous, seriously STOP THE MADNESS!
p.s. Sorry for the little S-word there, don’t mean to offend with the PG-13 language there
Hey guys, I hope you all had a great turkey day, I did! Ok, so during conversations internally here at 3rdPO.com occasionally we will fight about things only to realize later that the reason for the disagreement was simply a misunderstanding.
Before you can have a position or thought on the idea, you first have to make sure your CLEARLY understand the concept first. Here is my case and point as my partner and I had differences about shipping and the process around the task. So he drew out the process with pictures and we ended up being on the same page with no arguments.
Simple methods of communicating complex issues can resolve much confusion. Give the concept a try. I first hear about it from the book called “The Back of the Napkin” but I have never actually read the book, LMAO
As we all go today, I just wanted to say thank you! I really appreciate you guys because believe it or not, I am so grateful to have a few cool friends that I can chat with. So happy Turkey Day to you and yours…….
Randy thinks that eBay is on the decline and Auctionbytes showed charts that look like the traffic does show it is soft. I throw my hat in the ring and I got another chart to show you!
Plus I am using my new screen capture tools that you can see my desktop and I will walk you through this as I test my new tools, YEAH
You know him and you love him. He is the happy ol’ dude at the end of the block who you visit on your way to the store. But then you end up chatting with him till the store closes and you have to go home with nothing purchased. You look up and the day is long gone.

That is what it feels like when I get the opportunity to talk to my buddy Randy Smythe the blogger from My Blog Utopia. He is full of so much experience, wisdom and plan old gruff that it is always thought provoking that entertaining.
This interview is a follow up from the eBay Top Seller conference call from the other week and boy this is some GOOD stuff. I was going to hold off on publishing this until I got the final edit, but this was just too timely. In light of the Dinesh responding to Randy’s post over at his blog, I had to post this one IMMEDIATELY.
Recently I was out on Twitter and started to follow my next interview guest. She goes by the tag of @PackagingDiva on Twitter and she is a fantastic resource. So let me introduce you to the woman behind the powerhouse, my JoAnn Hines is the Packaging Diva.

JoAnn blew me away on this call. What she bring to the table as an expert in the field of shipment packaging and product packages is unbelievable. Things that I never though of, suddenly mad real business sense. And the increase on the bottom line and customer loyalty through packaging was great! She is a true gem and here wisdom is unsurpassed.
I had a video blurb about packaging that I had done previously, but JoAnn takes that wisdom to a whole new level. I am very happy to have met The Packaging Diva and you will be too.
Hey guys, I got my new toy! I am excited to have received a new camera in the mail today. Looks like doing the web cam may get even more fun and creative.
Earlier in the year I shared with you some tips for making a good video HERE. So this could be part duex as video continues to make its way to blogs and actual vloggers like me get more air play
I was watching TV and had a though about responsibility for my success or failure. This prompted me to start actually considering who is responsible my personal success and failure. Sure the easy answer would be “me”, but I really wanted to know what that meant.
Take a quick look with me as I check out what the meaning of responsibly is and how can it apply to my business and its raise and falls. Life is full of rises and falls, but we as entrepreneurs MUST learn to be good surfers on the tide.
There is no FAIL in this game, I don’t even have a quit button and you can’t either! As a surfer you have no control over the waters around you, but you can control how you ride that wave. If nothing else, I am going to continue to be the one who holds the keys and keeps control. That is one aspect every good surfer MUST possess
Yo, are you following the Morning Papers links that I do on Twitter? Well you should take a second and go right now to www.Twitter.com/ColderICE and put me on your list. I do them every morning Monday – Friday and I guarantee you will find something useful there every once in a while, some people say everyday!
Well, today we were all buzzing about this new free shipping model that seems to be the new darling at eBay. Earlier, eBay had a webinar and that seemed to be its underlying theme. I have not had a chance to watch it myself, but you can see the replay of it HERE and of course, I will give my 2 cents too on it later in the week.
But for now, here is my take on free shipping and the increasing fees of postage and how it may effect your business during the slowdown and the holidays.
