Retail sales up 1 percent in JanuaryThere are big changes going on the economy is contracting. Signs of the change are in some of the between the lines data. It is not what you see reported sometimes it is what they leave out.

Here we see that retail sales show an increase of 1% according to the Commerce Department. But there was HYPER discounting going on at the same time. This practice has be going on since before Christmas in retail. I see circulars daily with 50 – 70% off.

What does that mean to your business and how do you take this? That is up to you, but at least you got the facts to work through :-)
