1) "Long URL Please Replaces Shortened Links with the Real Thing – Featured Firefox Extension" http://ow.ly/4AyE This cool little trick enables a URL to be lengthened to it’s original address, whether it’s shown when you hover over it with your mouse, or it’s just replaced in a document. Worried about clicking on that link and where it will take you? Don’t want to get a virus by an unknown link? Great tool to have on hand.
2) "eBay CEO: ‘We’re Not Amazon’ " http://ow.ly/4BNP eBay fires back after recent comparisons between the company and Amazon. Stating that they have a different market, and a differing marketplace model, eBay continues to downplay it’s rivalry between the two ecommerce giants. Check out CEO statements here.
3) "Video – Sport Science Happy Gilmore" http://ow.ly/4C1R Loved the movie, but not sure how realistic the drive is? Wondering if it’s worth your golf game to get the drive like a hockey player? Check out the Happy Gilmore golf drive as science and engineering discovers if it’s possible to get that kind of distance in real life.
4) "Nurse told she’s too fat to move to New Zealand" http://ow.ly/4xGb Weighing in with a BMI of around 50, this UK nurse as been barred acceptance as a resident in New Zealand. The government states that the risk of the high-cost medical bills detract from the desirability of the nurse, even though there is a shortage of workers in that health care profession. New Zealand has a government-based and regulated healthcare system.
5) "Chart of the Week: The Global Recession May Have Bottomed Out In February" http://ow.ly/4xC2 The decline of consumer activity worldwide seems to have leveled-out, at least for now.
