eBay’s Business Disruptions a.k.a. "Updates" Set for June 15th Week
So I get the letter in the inbox today letting us know the exact date of the new disruptions for our business on eBay. I love the wording though "spirit of partnership with our sellers". OH, I feel so "partnered" now LMAO
This is a follow-up about important eBay updates coming next month. In the spirit of partnership with our sellers, eBay is consolidating most changes into two releases in 2009, and giving you the lead time you need to adjust and take full advantage of the updates. Here’s an overview of the first release, scheduled to go live the week of June 15.
All of these updates are designed to drive more buyers to eBay and more sales for you-while making it easier and more profitable for you to sell.
1. Easier, more visual shopping; buyer incentives to drive sales
- New item page rolling out
- New product pages surfacing to more buyers
- New way to list in Fixed Price: Offer variations of one product-e.g. color and size-in a single low-cost listing.
- Buyer incentives and loyalty programs to drive more traffic
2. Key information to set buyer expectations and reduce your costs
- New Smart FAQ answers buyers’ top 20 questions before they contact you
- Package tracking information in My eBay
- Extended deadline for return policy and handling time
- Custom item specifics
- Category and item specifics changes
3. Other enhancements to make selling on eBay more efficient
