Kat Simpson is an eBay PowerSeller, she was recently named runner-up in the "I am eBay" contest. An she is one fantastic and inspired individual. I had to personal pleasure of meeting Kat here in Atlanta for the PeSA Atlanta Ecommerce Summit.

Kat is the owner of KatsKloset.net which is her main eBay store and she also has KatsKloset.com for here ecommerce retail site. Kat loves to blog and do videos over at TheRiverTheRanchandTheBay.com

She is a co-host on two eBay web broadcast eBay & Beyond: Basics To Business and The River The Ranch and The Bay. Wow, that is a whole lot going on. So many functions you want in a video making tool are missing. Even when you pay hundreds of dollars (and trust me, I have) for video software, you often come up short for making good video masking. I wish I would have found ManyCam a long ago, but I was not that fortunate. I could have saved a fortune on video processing software had I only known.

What is ManyCam?

• Add text to your webcam video window with any application.
• Add cool animations to your video window.
• Show your local day and date in your video window.
• Add live CGI graphics like fire and water effects.

While ManyCam does NOT record video you can use services like YouTube or Viddler.com to capture the recording for you and then down load it from there to use for other purposes or just link to them and embed from there.

ManyCam will work with LIVE broadcasting on sites like Ustream.tv or Justin.tv so you can actually do desktop capture LIVE!!! Now that alone is worth the price of admission folks. We got a hot one right here!

Keep in mind that this is a FREE tool and as such it may not work for every setup and PC environments with all software. I have not had issue with it working with my tools, and will be testing this LIVE on this Thursday nights show, so be sure to tune in TONIGHT at 10:30 pm et or so for Late Night Beta w/ ColderICE and watch how this thing does in a real world environment.

This is a very brief video that I made to highlight an important movement in Marketing— that of the shift from intrusion to engagement as a way to convey a business entity’s message over to its prospects.

INTERRUPT PEOPLE versus ENGAGE PEOPLE

Marketing has been a constantly changing strategic means of reaching out to people and possible customers. For years, marketing has been following the old bratty way of selling itself— by interrupting people and getting their attention through considerably irritating means (read: constant telemarketing calls from businesses offering products you don’t really need). Well, that was before; now an instant shift from this technique to a better one, which is to engage people through means that will attract and KEEP their attention, is already noticeable. This is the same thing that is currently happening within the social media space, where people and prospects are ‘befriended’, so as to convince them to support a business’ message.

MY FIRST RECOMMENDATION

I have been a fair critic on most of my videos and probably, this will be the first time you’ll hear me say; “That’s a fantastic idea!” I have not directly said it in the video, but I tell you now, I strongly recommend that you join this bandwagon of marketers shifting from interrupting to engaging people in order for their messages to be successfully sent out.

I was at an event yesterday and they asked me to stand up and give 1 tip or takeaway to be successful at business. I HATE when they do that to me! Why? Because I could give at least 20 GREAT tips, LMAO

But the limited me to only one and this is what I told them. Immediately after getting back I made this video, cause I do not think I have ever said this before on the website.

You know I have a wierd view on many things, right? I am sure you all that follow this blog can attest to that. Well two of my Twitter friends responded to this post that I made…

However it did make me want to respond in more than 140 characters so I started shooting this impromptu video.

I am going all out on this one guys. It is 2009 and your boy John from ColderICE.com is back in full effect. I gotz new gear, new energy, a new beard and a new attitude.

This is the one that has been bubbling underneath the surface and it is time to simply come out with it. I have held back the TRUTH for way to long and now it is time to let it hang out.

Somebody has got to tell the freaking TRUTH about eBay. Yeah, eBay this and eBay that. I have heard others, but so what?!? Now, I got something to say. And make sure you remember this ain’t personal, this is STRICKLY business.
